Kalzumeus Software is the software company that Patrick McKenzie runs. He’s a marketing genius, and if I haven’t written about him already, shame on me for not writing about him sooner.
Patrick has a book out titled Sell More Software: Website Conversion Optimization For Software Developers which compiles essays from his blog into a cohesive, must-read book. If you’re already following and reading his blog, it might not be the most useful purchase for you, but even if you’re not in the business of selling software, reading his work allows for a new perspective on what you are doing. Scroll through a few articles on his blog (there are supposedly 600+ articles) and take a look.
If you’re more into learning via audio, check out his podcast series:
- Patrick Mckenzie, Keith Perhac and guest Brennan Dunn talk about Growing Consulting Practices.
- Ramit Sethi and Patrick McKenzie talk about Why Your Customers Would Be Happier If You Charged More.
- Ramit Sethi and Patrick McKenzie talk about Getting Your First Consulting Client.
I also want to point out his article titled Doubling SAAS Revenue. The folks at Yahoo could give this a read through or two and take notes for optimizing Flickr for growth in both revenue and active user base.
